Delhi Man Shot Dead, Wife Critical After Son’s Relationship Sparks Violence

In a chilling act of revenge, four young men allegedly gunned down a 42-year-old truck driver and left his wife critically injured at their home in Delhi’s Swaroop Nagar on Wednesday evening. The attack was reportedly triggered by the couple’s objection to their son’s relationship with one of the accused.

According to police, the victim’s son had been in a close relationship with one of the shooters but had cut ties following pressure from his parents. Investigators believe the accused, angered by the breakup and a possible financial dispute, returned with three others to confront the parents.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North) Nidhin Valsan said they received a call about gunfire around 7 PM. “A team reached the scene and found a couple shot inside their home. The man was declared dead at the hospital, while his wife remains in critical condition,” he said.

Initial inquiries revealed the victim’s son used to live with the main accused but left the shared accommodation recently. Police suspect a mix of emotional fallout and monetary disagreements may have escalated the tension.

“All four suspects have been identified and teams are working to track them down,” the DCP confirmed.

An officer close to the case added that the investigation is ongoing to verify the motive behind the attack, but early signs point to the parents’ disapproval of the relationship playing a key role in the violence.
